Multiseed crackers – from bread flour!

Sokmagvas keksz – kenyérlisztből!

Sometimes the best things are born by accident. This divine cracker is one of those, made during an unexpected visit from whatever we happened to have at home. Its base is bread flour, since that should never run out of the pantry.*

The best part is that it’s customizable. You can mix the seeds freely, poppy seeds and walnuts can go in too (yes, even in a savory version!), or pistachios, and with cheese you can take it in a completely different direction.

Another advantage is that you’ll have a very healthy snack, no matter which version you make. Not only do guests love it, it’s also great for trips, school, or work.

Here is the multiseed cracker recipe

Ingredients

  • 125 g MIMOOSA Simple Homemade Bread Flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 40 g sunflower seeds
  • 40 g flaxseeds
  • 40 g sesame seeds
  • 40 g pumpkin seeds
  • ½ packet baking powder
  • 0.5 dl oil
  • 1.5 dl lukewarm water

First, chop the pumpkin seeds into small pieces and mix them thoroughly with the flour, salt, and baking powder.

Measure the oil into a glass, then add the lukewarm water. Stir the liquid into the flour with a spoon. When the dough starts to come together, knead it by hand until smooth. Divide the dough into two parts, and roll it out between two sheets of baking paper as thin as you can. Cut it into pieces on the baking paper, then place it like that into an oven preheated to 175–180°C. It will be ready in about 15 minutes. When you take it out of the oven, it will still be a bit soft, but as it cools, it will become crispy. Prepare the other half of the dough the same way.

Enjoy your meal and cheerful conversations!
